I just wanted to take the opportunity this week in my blog to thank all those who worked so diligently over the last week to prepare NDC for the Alpha Missions Conference, followed in quick order by the Ladies’ Day and then our special day of recognition for the Wingos on Sunday. It is a blessing as the pastor of this church to see so many people working together to make ministry happen. The Alpha conference on Thursday and Friday was a blessing and then the turnaround for the Ladies’ Day on Saturday was handled with grace and precision. There was lots of movement of tables and chairs and that involved people working together. The decorations for the Ladies’ Day were amazing. As the pastor, I was not involved in any of these setups or turnarounds, as I’m still recovering from a fall and have very little function in my right arm, but I am sure grateful for those who were involved and did such a great job.
Paul gives us a warning in the book of Galatians when he writes, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up,” (Gal.6:9 NIV). Sometimes in ministry, we can be so busy serving that we grow weary, but when we serve together, we complement and support one another, and this is how the body of Christ is supposed to function. I appreciate everyone’s efforts in setting up chairs and tables, working in the kitchen and just doing the jobs that needed to be done. When we work together, we don’t need to grow weary, because the work is shared, and many hands make the load light. Though I wasn’t able to help in any of these areas I did take some pictures and I will hope you will enjoy them as part of my blog. Let us continue to encourage people to exercise their gifts in our midst so that Jesus Christ will be glorified and honored. The body working together involves lots of hands on deck. Hope that you will exercise and practice your gifts in the ministry of NDC, for the glory of God.
Serving Together,
Pastor Rich Sivo
