One of the things that Jesus denounced most strongly during his earthly ministry was religious hypocrisy. In fact, Jesus’s words in the 23rd chapter of Matthew’s Gospel are some of his harshest criticisms of the religious leaders of his day. As a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ I think it’s important that we to stand up and speak out against the hypocrisy that we see going on all around us in the 21st century. And so today I would like to share my thoughts on the blatant hypocrisy of the so-called women’s day rallies that took place this past Saturday. These women for the most part were rallying against Donald Trump and some of the foolish things that he has been accused of saying and doing in the past. Some of the criticisms against Donald Trump are really based on his own words and actions. But what I find hypocritical about these women’s group coming out so strongly against Donald Trump was that 1998 when a sitting president was demonstrated to have had sex in the Oval Office of the White House with a young White House intern these same women’s groups defended the president so he could keep his job. They even trashed and slandered the victim accusing her of being the perpetrator of the sexual activity even when it was known that Bill Clinton was a habitual offender. No CEO of any company in our land would’ve been able to keep his job if he was found guilty of the same thing that President Clinton was guilty of. It is therefore outrageous hypocrisy for groups like NOW to now come out and speak out against Donald Trump for something that he said over 14 years ago when he was not a politician but a celebrity speaking off the record. The women’s group movement led by groups like NOW in 1998 lost any moral authority by supporting Bill Clinton continuing as president of the United States to speak to any moral issues in our world. And whenever they open their mouths to do so they are demonstrating their outrageous hypocrisy regardless of how big the crowds are.
This can also be said about the press as well. Remember when Bill Clinton was running for president, no one did the extensive background work that was been done to Donald Trump on Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton was a known womanizer and adulterer when he was running for President in 1992. The press chose to bury the charges that had been leveled against him by such women as Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones. Remember Paula Jones’s charges go back to when Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas. But the press’ hypocrisy is again seen in the double standard that has been applied to Donald Trump. I did not vote for Donald Trump (nor did I vote for Hillary Clinton). But Donald Trump won 60% of the states in America in the 2016 election. 30 states of the electoral college went to Donald Trump. That is way more than the 48% popular vote that Hillary Clinton received. Yes, that’s right 48%, that’s not even a majority. More people voted against Hillary then voted for her. And believe me much of the vote was against her. But Donald Trump carried 30 states including the blue wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin (a state that Hillary never even visited).
Once again the hypocrisy of the press is seen as they try to discredit Donald Trump’s election. I believe as Christians living in the 21st century it is our responsibility to pray for those in authority over us. I believe God in his sovereignty has through various means chosen Donald Trump to be the 45th President of the United States with 306 electoral college votes, which is how we choose our presidents. It is my responsibility as a Christian leader and pastor to speak up on the double standards and hypocrisy that I see being applied against our new President. Whatever your political position may be know that the news agencies are filled with double standards and hypocrisy. One of the speeches I heard this past Saturday make this point crystal clear. It was Madonna who suggested that she wanted to blow up the White House. I wonder what the reaction of the media would have been if during the Obama administration some conservative radio talk show person like Rush Limbaugh suggested that he was going to blow up the White House. Imagine the outcry for that person to be removed from the airways. And yet you hardly hear any criticism of Madonna speaking out to thousands of women and suggesting blowing up the White House. Again remember these are the same women that stood and supported Bill Clinton’s extreme abuse of power and having sex in the Oval Office with a young intern. The hypocrisy of our media raises as a stench to heaven.
Let us raise our voices to expose the phoniness of those who only care about abortion rights. That’s why the women’s groups that are pro-life were forbidden from taking part in the rallies that took place on Saturday. That’s why these groups would rather have a known adulterer and sexual deviant be there president as long as he defends their right to kill babies. Donald Trump has made strong statements about being pro-life. Again 30 states in our nation supported Donald Trump to be the President of the United States. Don’t miss that, 30 states voted for a pro-life president. These so-called women’s groups haven’t missed it. Maybe the truth is that the majority of Americans don’t believe that abortion should be available for all nine months of a woman’s pregnancy. Donald Trump in the last presidential debate took Hillary Clinton to task for her vote in support partial-birth abortion. He sees it as one of the most horrible crimes that is being performed in the name of choice today. Again the press has been very silent on the truth of these procedures, but Donald Trump wasn’t silent in that last debate. That’s what Saturday’s rallies were really all about. Let’s pray for our nation and for our new President that God would give him the courage and wisdom to make the best decisions to direct our nation in a different direction than the direction we’ve been going. I believe today (Friday) there’s a big pro-life rally going on in Washington DC where thousands will be standing up and speaking out for life. Let’s pray for President Trump as he prepares to make his first Supreme Court nomination this coming week. Let us stand for truth and decency and the protection of all life as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us speak up against the hypocrisy and double standards that we see in our culture today, just as Jesus did 2000 years ago.
