Last Saturday we had another amazing “Taste of the World” ministry event. As the Lord has brought many different people and fellowships into our ministry realm it’s such a blessing to bring all these ministry groups together and provide an incredible family-friendly event. Besides the petting zoo, pony rides and fun bus the ministry of the Word was going out from the ministry tent in a very special way. Of course the food from about 10 different nations was remarkable once again. Besides the really blessed things that were happening the Lord provided us once again a beautiful sunny day and most amazingly I didn’t see a fly or any bug all day. How is that even possible with all the food that we had? The psalmist reminds us, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him”, (Ps.34:8 NIV). It is such a refreshing thing to see God work and move in our world and to be partnering with Him. Of course the psalmist is referring to tasting and seeing how good God is in salvation. God has provided a wonderful salvation for us through his Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing is more delightful than to find our peace and rest in the Lord Jesus Christ and to know that He has forgiven us of all of our sins and has set us free from the sin nature that so desires to control and ruin our lives. I was so especially blessed on Saturday once again by my church family here at New Durham who worked so hard to make this another opportunity to serve the Lord. Again the psalmist states, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than the honey to my mouth!” (Ps.119:103 NIV). God’s Word truly should be the source of our light and joy.
My day on Saturday started at about 9:15 AM in helping one of the guys carry equipment out to set up a tent. It ended when I returned home from doing as much cleaning up as I could at around 7:15 PM. During all those hours God was moving and working through many different people and the spirit of cooperation and ministry was such a blessing and refreshment to my heart. My heart was filled with the joy of Jesus and serving Him, the one who had set this great open door before us. As I was ministering the Word on Saturday evening and the day was wrapping up I noticed that after I finished speaking the people that were still there didn’t seem interested in leaving. There was such an interesting family feel to this event that even people who were not part of our fellowship stayed and visited and some even helped with the cleanup. Once again this is the goodness of our God. Have you tasted and seen how good God is to us through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ? He comes to us with open arms waiting for us to come back to Him. Once we experience His great kindness and love for us our hearts should be rejoice and praise our great Savoir when we see other people experience His amazing grace. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!! Thanks again for all you who served and made last Saturday such a special day. May the Lord Jesus Christ receive all the glory and honor, for He alone is worthy.
Joy in the journey,
