I just wanted to give you a little update from our mission team in the Philippines. Our ministry here in the Philippines has gone very well so far. I had my first full day of teaching yesterday. It’s a little tiring to teach for five straight hours but I had a good time with my 30 students. The Lord is working in our hearts and lives as we minister for His glory and honor. Sunday we ministered at Hillside Christian Church which was an amazing experience. The leadership took us out to lunch afterwards and then they took us to a recreation center where we had a very relaxing time. We then hiked a mountain together with the folks and they just really seemed to enjoy our company. It was a very special day for all of us.
The work team has been busy working on benches to put around the camp. Jocelyn has been working in the library as it wasn’t quite enough work to keep everyone busy on the benches. Last evening I had the opportunity to presents my Yad Vasham experience to the students and staff. It is very beautiful here in this area of the Philippines. Tomorrow we will be going to minister and share God’s Word at a nearby college campus setting to the Christian group on that campus. We are having a good time of fellowshipping and working together. We’re sharing in this labor of love that the Lord has laid on our hearts. I’m reminded of John’s words in the third chapter of his first letter where he writes, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God!” (NKJV). What a privilege it is to represent the Lord Jesus Christ and New Durham Chapel in this place. It is amazing to consider the great love that God has given to us and how that great love impacts people from all over the world. We are all healthy and strong. We have not had any physical problems. They are feeding us very well and I don’t think any of us will lose weight this week. All praise to our great Savior who directs our steps for his glory and honor.
Shalom from the Philippines,
